Project experience

A deteriorated block wall, repainted.

Exterior repainting at an IU project in Bloomington, Indiana.

A worn block wall needed a fresh start.

This IU project involved repainting an exterior block wall in badly deteriorated condition. The task was to renew the wall’s appearance and bring the painted surface back to a consistent finish.

Marberk performed the repainting as a subcontractor. The images show the condition before the work and the renewed wall while surrounding construction activity was still present.

Preparation belongs in the scope.

For a property team, a deteriorated surface calls for more than choosing a new color. The condition of the substrate and the preparation required need to be understood before the work is priced.

When discussing a similar wall, we review the existing condition, the surfaces included, and the desired finish so the proposal can describe the work being considered.

This case describes a repaint and visible surface improvement. Work was performed as a subcontractor.
