Start with a location list
Identify the properties, surfaces, and priorities. A shared finish standard does not mean that every building has the same condition or preparation needs. Record what is known and what needs review at each site.
Make the bids comparable
Ask what surfaces, preparation, coating requirements, protection, access equipment, working hours, and cleanup are included. Note the exclusions and assumptions. A price is easier to compare when it refers to the same work.
Understand the condition behind the finish
A sound surface and a deteriorated one may require different preparation. Photos, drawings, and a site review can help establish the work required before quantities and pricing are finalized.
Discuss the sequence
Tell the contractor whether one location must finish first, whether there are deadlines, and which hours the local team can offer. Discuss how those constraints affect the plan and price.
Agree how changes are handled
Ask how an unexpected condition or added area will be described, priced, and authorized. Include the person who approves those decisions so a change does not get confused with the original scope.
